I have been making images for most of my life. I’ve had a lengthy career in advertising and graphic design, while making time for personal, non-commercial work as well. My current work features montages of original photographs, juxtaposed and manipulated to communicate impressions and feelings around a particular place and time.
I think the measure of any work that strives to reach the level of “art”, is how well it communicates emotion and sympathetic resonance. That’s what I’m after. I have recently begun printing a number of new pieces on silk, it’s a beautiful material that seems to mimic the fabric of memory—so fragile and yet so strong.
