||Veerakeat’s attraction to the color and energy of the city is strongly reflected in his dynamic oil paintings. San Francisco, his home, inspires his work. He vividly interprets the ever-changing energy of the streets, the geography and atmosphere. Contrasts of light and shadow, movement and stillness, bright color and darkness fill his canvases. The results are often like looking through a wide-angle lens, in which provocative distortions interpret the way in which urban dwellers might see as they pass through their urban landscape.
Born in Thailand in 1965, Veerakeat studied architecture and art before emigrating to the United States. His passion for painting has grown and he works productively in his studio almost daily.
